Robert G. McKelvey, son of the firm's founder, has been President and
Chairman of the Board of George McKelvey Co., Inc. since 1976.
Bob graduated with a B.A. from Wesleyan University in 1959, summa
cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and winner of the Weller Prize for the
highest academic average in his class. He served as President of the
student body and a class officer. He attended Oxford University as a
Rhodes Scholar, receiving a Master's Degree. He has taught at Oxford
and Columbia Universities and served in the U. S. Department of State.
Bob serves variously as President, Chairman and/or trustee to
numerous national educational and philanthropic organizations.
Presently, he serves as vice president of the Association of American
Rhodes Scholars. He also served as a trustee of Wesleyan University for
fifteen years including seven years as vice chairman of the investment
committee and five years as vice chairman of the board. He is also Vice
Chairman and Treasurer of the Merton College Charitable Corporation
(MC3), the American alumni organization of one of Oxford’s oldest
colleges (founded 1264).
On a local level, since 1977, Bob has served in various capacities as
officer and trustee of The (Animal) Shelter, Inc. He served as a trustee
and treasurer of the Sea Girt Lighthouse Citizens Committee from 1985
to 2008.
During his distinctive career, Bob has received accolades and awards
including, most recently, the Alpha Delta Phi Award in 2006, Wesleyan’s
Baldwin Medal in 2007 and its Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2009. In
2010, the Chancellor of Oxford University named him a Distinguished
Friend of Oxford University.
Bob is a past president of the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club.

Who in the East and Who’s Who in New Jersey.
