Robert G. McKelvey, son of the firm's founder, is President of George McKelvey
Company. Bob graduated from Wesleyan University in 1959, summa cum laude,
Phi Beta Kappa, and winner of the Weller Prize for the highest academic average
in his class. He served as President of the student body and a class officer. He
attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, receiving a Master's Degree. He
has taught at Oxford and Columbia Universities and served in the U. S.
Department of State.
Bob has been President of George McKelvey Company since 1976. He serves as
a trustee of many national educational and philanthropic organizations.
Presently, he serves as vice president of the Association of American Rhodes
Scholars. He also served as a trustee of Wesleyan University for fifteen years
including seven years as vice chairman of the investment committee and five
years as vice chairman of the board. Bob is a director of several public and
private companies. Locally, he serves as a trustee of The (Animal) Shelter, Inc.
(since 1977), and as trustee and treasurer of the Sea Girt Lighthouse Citizens
Committee (since 1983). He is a past president of the Spring Lake Bath and
Tennis Club.
His recent listings include Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s
Who in the East and Who’s Who in New Jersey.
